I would like to start my posts with a quote from “The Beach” by Alex Garland, just because this book, and particularly this quote, influenced a lot my previous travels, and helped me be the traveller I’m.
“Trust me, it’s paradise. This is where the hungry come to feed. For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven’t tried before. So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It’s probably worth it.
You hope and you dream, but you never believe that something is gonna happen to you, not like it does it the movies. And when it actually does, you expected to feel different, more visual, more real. I was waiting for it to hit me.
…I still believe in paradise. But now at least I know its not some place you can look for, cause its not where you go, it’s how you feel for a moment in your life, and if you find that moment, it lasts forever.”

Me gustaría iniciar mis posts con una cita de “La Playa” de Alex Garland, ya que este libro, y concretamente esta cita, han inspirado muchísimo mis viajes anteriores, y me han ayudado a ser la viajera que soy.
“En serio, es el paraíso. Es donde los hambrientos vienen a alimentarse, ya que mi generación es trotamundos y da vueltas al mundo en busca experiencias que todavía no hayan vivido. Así que nunca rechacéis una invitación, no os resistáis a lo desconocido, no olvidéis ser educados, ni abuséis de la hospitalidad. Mantened una mente abierta y vivid a fondo la experiencia. Aunque haga daño, valdrá la pena!
Sueñas y deseas, pero nunca llegas a creer que te pueda pasar a tí, no como sucede en las películas. Y cuando de verdad sucede, esperabas sentirte diferente, más vívido, más real. Esperaba a que sucediera.
